唐人街藝術隊反逼遷濫開發 展華埠貴族化變遷
2016年曾組織獲得巨大反響的「堅守家園」計畫、在華埠樓宇打出大幅投影，反對逼遷和社區貴族化的唐人街藝術隊(Chinatown Art Brigade)，經過近半年策畫準備，26日帶來其最新藝術作品「在這裡居住：保存華埠」(Here To Stay: Placekeeping in Chinatown)。通過擴增實境(Augmented Reality)和網路地圖的形式，展示華埠九處地點的前世今生，反映華埠近年來的變遷，在高檔住宅、酒店、畫廊湧現同時，許多低收入耆老和移民無法負荷這帶來的房租飆漲，陷入被房東騷擾、逼遷、高價轉租的命運，而與此同時，社區反對貴族化的運動也一波又一波。
唐人街藝術隊創始人之一余紅碧(Betty Yu)介紹，此展是配合5月下東城歷史月進行，準備了近半年，且在展出的同時會繼續對現有作品進行補充，不斷完善，力求讓大家看到最真實的華埠。此計畫通過展示華埠九個地方原本樣子，對比如今被高檔酒店或畫廊取代的現狀，引發大家對華埠發展的思考。
這九個地方包括包厘街(Bowery)50號、81號、93號和161號，勿街(Mott St.)26號，堅尼路三角地帶，喜士打街(Hester St.)100街，櫻桃街(Cherry St.)227號，格蘭街(Grand St.)282-286號。余紅碧表示，此前「堅守家園」計畫所獲得的反響，鼓舞他們繼續將有關華埠逼遷、高價轉租的信息通過口述歷史、拍攝影像資料、做動畫、打投影等方式傳承下去，希望運用更多新科技的他們也找到擴增實境的方式來展現。觀摩者只要下載一款名為「Blippar」的免費手機程序，將程序打開放置在象徵這九個地點的圖片前，接下來就會展現出有關這一地點過去的樣子以及近年來發生何種變遷的講解視頻和文字。
余紅碧說，自從2008年下東城土改計畫通過後，華埠貴族化趨勢愈演愈烈，華埠目前有100多家畫廊，其中有60多家均為近三年入駐；華埠的房租如今已增長了三倍都不止。「我希望大家看到這些現在成為酒店或畫廊的地方時，能知道它原來的樣子，而且華埠店面被取代、房客被惡房東逼遷仍在發生，希望我們的計畫被更多人看到，最終能夠在一定程度上影響城市計畫政策，保護華埠家園。」她說。
余紅碧同時表示，希望在不久後能推出自己團隊設計的手機程序運用到項目中，該項目也會在今後數月中不斷得到完善，展示更全面的華埠。
