韓國瑜當選高雄市長，南台灣的兩岸交流也變得熱絡。由孫文南院協會、北京清華大學台灣研究院等兩岸學術及民間單位共同舉辦的「孫中山與公共事務」論壇，將於12月9日在高雄登場，北京清華大學台研院副院長巫永平將在會上發表演講，兩岸共同主辦單位還將連署並發表，「兩岸南南合作」宣言。
中山大學公共事務管理所教授、孫文南院院長汪明生昨受訪表示，韓國瑜掀起的「北漂現象」及在政見中推動的兩岸民間的南南合作（大陸南方地區與南台灣合作），帶來了高雄未來的新希望，期待高雄各界，在此關鍵的時刻，要積極面對、努力準備。
汪明生透露，今年舉辦的第三屆「孫中山與公共事務」論壇，將擴大規模，廣邀30多位大陸代表，大陸方面的主辦單位包括北京清華大學台研院、廈門大學台研中心、上海國際問題研究院、上海市公共事務管理研究會等多個重要涉台智庫；台灣主辦方則有中華公共事務管理學會、孫文南院協會籌備會、南台灣產學聯盟、台灣競爭力論壇等，將於下月9日在高雄圓山大飯店舉行。
汪明生說，論壇還將邀請巫永平演講，聚焦兩岸經濟合作，論壇上兩岸民間團體會連署並發表「兩岸南南合作」宣言；此次論壇不是閉門座談，而是廣邀所有高雄市民，只要關心高雄發展和兩岸議題的市民都可報名參加。
汪明生指出，高雄這30多年來己經錯失了台灣的國家建設6年計畫、亞太營運中心、多功能經貿園區、自由經濟示範區等重大發展際遇，實在可惜。高雄港的貨櫃吞吐量不僅幾乎跌出前20名，甚至連城市排名都已被台中超越。他期許在高雄成功「翻轉」後，能為高雄的建設發展，帶來新氣象。
